KONGOBYOEI MORIKUNI

1378 – 1394

Morikuni is a Smith of the group of mountain warrior monks who fought Mongols attempted invasion of Japan.

Their swords are recognized as superior fighting swords. The Founder of this school Moritaka 1260 AD came from Chikuzen province.

This sword by Morikuni is a suriage blade of 65.5cm having a well ordered Mokume foundation with Ji-Nie and Utsuri.

It is a sword that exudes power yet very graceful.

This group was affiliated with the Kamado shrine at Dalifu City in Kyushu. This blade comes with extra fine Koshirae signed Fuchi Kachiro of exceptional beauty. Awarded NBTHK papers.
