Bizen Ichimonji Sanenori

1234 - 1260

This is a Tachi of the late Kamakura period. As the many schools of the Bizen tradition developed the greatest of these was the Ichimonji school from which this sword has descended.

Bizen province dominated all the sword producing provinces in both quality and quantity.

The strong features of the sword is the uniform Gunome-Midare Hamon, thick and healthy bright and clear. Ko-Itame Hada well grained mixed with Ko-Mokume covered in Chikei It is in Ko-Nie Deki, a sword of very fine quality having NBTHK Juyo Token papers.
