SATSUMA NAMINOHIRA YUKIYASU

His swords are mainly styled in the Soshu tradition with much bright Nie crystals abundantly displayed thru-out the surface of the blade. The style or shape of the blade was very popular during the Kamakura period 1200 A.D. to 1334. This type is made without a guard (Tsuba) because it was worn against the skin under a suit of armour.

The normal dress code of the Kamakura period of Samurai on horseback. This Tanto was purchased from the Komaki family thru Kazuya Tabata of Fukuoka City in theProvince of Chikuzen Japan.
